Delivery Conditions

Impact Test

The shown values are related to a longitudinal specimen having a width W = 10 mm. If W is lower than 10 mm, the measured energy value in J must be transformed on the basis of the formula: KV = (KVmeasured x 10) / W.

Machinability

Our material allow a much better performance in machinability than the standard foreseen by the norm. The cutting speed, for 10 minutes life of the cutting edge, is equal to 465 m/min, exceeding the norm by almost 50%.

Weldability:

The material have good welding properties thanks to low carbon equivalent content (Ceq 0.49% max). This means that in standard conditions, tubes can be welded without pre-heating.

Heat Treatments

Approximate transformation temperatures are: Ac1= 715 °C Ac3 = 810 °C.
The austenitisation temperature recommended for normalising heat treatment is 880 °C.

Tube ends:

The hollow bar comes with square cut and deburred ends.

Certification:

The hollow bar is supplied with 3.1.B inspection certificate,according to the standards EN 10204 and ISO 10474.

Identification and Marking:

The hollow bar is marked in indelible ink, the details being repeated along the entire length of each tube and on a label, as follows:
Manufacturer’s trademark – manufacturing standard – dimensions -steel grade – supply condition – cast no. – item number.

Packaging:

The hollow bar comes in strapped bundles. The minimum weight of each bundle is 2000kg; the maximum bundle weight being 5000kg, with a minimum of 4 pieces.
