Project Description
Product Description:
Duplex Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes are advanced metallurgical products featuring a unique α+γ dual-phase microstructure. This composition combines the best properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, resulting in an optimal balance of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Typically, these pipes contain 18-28% chromium and 3-10% nickel, with low carbon content. Some grades may also include alloying elements such as Mo, Cu, Nb, Ti, and N.
Key Grades:
S31803/S32250, S32750, S32760, S31500, 32001, S32003, S32304
Key Standards:
– ASTM A789 (ASME SA789): Seamless and welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel tubing for general service
– ASTM A790 (ASME SA790): Seamless and welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel pipe
– ASTM A928 (ASME SA928): Ferritic/austenitic (duplex) stainless steel pipe electric fusion welded with addition of filler metal
– GB/T 21832-2008: Austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel welded pipes
– GB/T 21833-2008: Austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel seamless pipes
Key Features:
1. Superior Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to general and localized corrosion, particularly stress corrosion cracking, pitting, crevice corrosion, corrosion fatigue, and erosion corrosion.
2. Excellent Weldability: Maintains structural integrity and corrosion resistance in welded joints.
3. Outstanding Mechanical Properties: High strength combined with good ductility and toughness.
4. Improved Intergranular Corrosion Resistance: Better performance in aggressive environments compared to many other stainless steels.
5. High Cost-Effectiveness: Long service life and reduced material requirements due to high strength.
Advantages over Ferritic Stainless Steel:
– Higher plasticity and toughness
– No room temperature brittleness
– Significantly improved intergranular corrosion resistance and weldability
– Retains high thermal conductivity and superplasticity of ferritic grades
Advantages over Austenitic Stainless Steel:
– Significantly higher yield strength
– Improved resistance to intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion, corrosion fatigue, and erosion
Applications:
Duplex Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes are ideal for applications requiring a combination of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, such as:
– Oil and gas industry
– Chemical processing plants
– Pulp and paper mills
– Desalination plants
– Marine environments
– Heat exchangers in corrosive environments
These pipes offer a superior balance of properties, making them an excellent choice for demanding applications where traditional stainless steels may fall short.
